Roof Reviver technical specifications

Tile Wash

Tilewash is a specifically designed cleaning solution for the removal of moss, moulds and lichen from concrete and Terra Cotta roof tiles.

After application, moss and lichens will deteriorate and loosen. The removal process is accelerated by water blasting.

Coverage

Total surface coverage can be achieved by using 1 Litre of Tilewash per 5 square meters of roof. Treated surfaces may become temporarily slippery.  Avoid discharging into streams and avoid contact with grass and plants.

Application and equipment

Tilewash should be applied by pump driven or hand held equipment which can provide sufficient spray volume for thorough coverage and wetting.

Common application methods are:

  •  Motorised pump units including rotary cleaners
  •  Air Assisted or Airless Spray units
  •  Backpack spray units
  •  Garden hand held spray units
  •  Hand held watering cansRoof Reviver (Tilewash) Product Information

Application Process

Remove all dirt, moss, lichen, mould and all other surface contaminants using high pressure water blasting (min. 3000 P.S.I.). After completion and time to dry, apply “Roof Reviver” Tilewash to the roof using a suitable application method, ensuring complete wetting (saturate the surface but not to the point that the product starts to run) to kill remaining spores; after approximately 1 hour (preferably overnight) hose roof thoroughly with clean water. Ensure surface is clean, dry and defect-free before proceeding with your “Roof Reviver” roof coating system.

Application Equipment

Tilewash is recommended to be applied by pump driven or hand held equipment which can provide sufficient spray volume for thorough coverage and wetting. Common application methods are; x Air Assisted or Airless Spray units x Backpack spray units x Garden hand held spray units x Hand held watering cans.

Coverage

Total surface coverage can be achieved by using 1 Litre of Tilewash per 8 m2 of roof.

Caution

Treated surfaces may become temporarily slippery; restrict traffic until dry. Avoid discharging into streams and other aquatic habitats. Avoid direct contact with grass & plants.

High-build Primer

Application

Weathered Porous Concrete Roof Tiles – “Roof Reviver Primerlock High Build Sealer” can only be applied once all repairs have been carried out, and the roof has been thoroughly cleaned by high pressure water blasting. Ensure that all loose and flaky dirt, dust, lichen, mould etc has been removed, so the tiles are back to a clean sound substrate We recommend using Roof Reviver Primerlock prior to the Hi-Build application as the high solids content of the product inhibits maximum penetration into the substrate.
